Aragon Photonics produces the most advanced and versatile High Resolution Optical Spectrum Analyzer, the BOSA. Thanks to our unique optical filtering and full spurious free dynamic range the BOSA achieves reliable measurements avoiding artifacts and undesired effects on your measurements.
Thanks to our strong commitment in R&D, Aragon Photonics offers diferent models of BOSA. With or without internal Tunable Laser Source (TLS), and even with two internal TLS’s in one box, an important product porfolio of high resolution spectrum analysers is available. The covered range includes the O, S, C and L bands, thus being a unique product in the market.
- Pure optical resolution: 0.08 pm (10 MHz)
- Wavelength accuracy: ±0.5 pm
- Spurious-free dynamic range >80 dB
- Wavelength range: O, S, C & L bands
- Scanning speed: 20 nm/s
- Upgrade with:

Peak analysis function
It allows you characterize a comb in a second and export the data in a csv file.
Variable resolution
Get results more easily comparable with your old OSA.
OSNR measurement
Configure the width of the signal and noise, and the distance between them and automatically get the OSNR value.
Power integral
Allows measuring the total power of the signal in a user-defined portion of the spectrum.
Trace locking
Uses an automatic or user defined portion of the spectrum for reference to lock traces.
Dual-channel polarization
Allow seeing the separate orthogonal polarization components of the signal simultaneously.
Easy automation
Control your BOSA remotely through GPIB or Ethernet using SCPI commands.
24 / 7
Robust enough to work fulltime during a week
Easy programming
Compatible with main programming languages: Labview, Python and Matlab
Based on our core SBS technology we have also developed unique measurements solutions to provide the most complete characterization of an optical signal available in the market:
Working with a Pulse Pattern Generator (PPG) or with an Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) BOSA Phase option provides time domain information useful to characterize optical modulations fast and reliably. Key features:
- Modulation format independent
- Bandwidth independent
- Eye diagram, constellation
- Time-resolved chirp
Enables the measurement of the spectrally-resolved state of polarization (SOP). Measure polarization differences between different light sources or spectral components or check the polarization changes within the signal bandwidth.
- Measure PMD on in-service fibers
- Analyze polarization in PICs
- Get PDL measurement of passive components
This option provides access to the internal tunable laser source included in BOSA 400 series and in BOSA Lite+, so that it can be used for additional applications.
- High accuracy & scanning repeatability.
- Output power >0dBm.
- Trigger synchronization.
- Use our TLS for your own purposes!

Aragon Photonics all-optical patented technology use the Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS) as a non-linear optical effect that causes a very narrow filtering effect.

Whether working on advanced modulation formats, quantum optics, or passive devices characterization, in R&D or production, get advantage of the BOSA performance.

The HDCA is thought for R&D and manufacturers of next generation passive components including photonic integrated circuits (PIC), ring resonators, fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) and many others.
